Over six months, while living and working in Ban Nam Khem, Thailand, I captured the story of the village, which was devastated by the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. Two decades after the disaster, I documented the resilience and strength of the community and its vibrant culture today.
Some of the photographs work was exhibited at Studio KIND in Barnstaple in 2023 and at Banbury Museum in 2024, allowing audiences to connect with the enduring spirit of a community that has rebuilt itself from immense loss. Through these exhibitions, the story of Ban Nam Khem was shared, highlighting both the lingering impact of the tsunami and the remarkable strength of its people.
